Though Gran Fondo Hincapie is, at its essence, about picturesque, challenging rides alongside cycling pros, it’s also about the events that surround these rides. From the Celebrity Chef Dinner to the Warehouse Sale and the Family Fest, these events, along with the unforgettable rides, culminate in the ultimate cycling experience for cyclists, family, and friends.

HINCAPIE SPORTSWEAR WAREHOUSE SALE

One of our most popular events, the Hincapie Sportswear Warehouse Sale draws a crowd every year because of the deep discounts it offers on a variety of cycling apparel for men, women, and kids. It takes place all day Friday outside of Hincapie Sportswear headquarters in conjunction with the Gran Fondo packet pickup. And plan to stay a while—we’ll also have food trucks and music.

CELEBRITY CHEF DINNER

Gourmet dishes prepared by celebrity chefs from all over the country, signature cocktails and top-rated wine—it’s the best pre-ride party you can imagine. Each chef creates a signature dish unique to their own style, and a master sommelier pairs each course with the perfect wine. Best of all, the dinner takes place in an intimate setting, where you can mingle with the chefs and ask questions about the dishes. And be sure to introduce yourself; you may be riding alongside a chef on Saturday!

FAMILY FESTIVAL

Family, friends, fans, and cyclists are invited to Gran Fondo Hincapie’s Family Festival. Enjoy free food, drinks, live music, and festivities beneath changing leaves in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Stroll through the vendor garden, and check out products from our favorite cycling companies. Need something for the kids to do? We have children’s bike races and a fully equipped bouncy park.

THE RIDES

With 15-, 50-, and 80-mile routes, the Gran Fondo Hincapie offers rides for every skill level. The 15-mile route, called the Piccolo, is a fairly easy route from Hotel Domestique up Camp Old Indian. The Medio is a shortened version of the Gran, with 50 miles of picturesque views of the Blue Ridge Foothills. The 80-mile Gran is one of George’s favorite training rides for the Tour de France, including epic climbs and challenging descents.
