One of George’s favorite training rides for the Tour de France, the Gran route will not disappoint with epic climbs including the infamous Skyuka Mountain KOM, switchbacks on Green River Cove, and a challenging descent down Howard’s Gap.
The Medio offers cyclists the picturesque view of the Blue Ridge Foothills in a slightly shortened version of the Gran.
The Piccolo follows an easy route from Hotel Domestique, but the rolling hilly loop has a little kick at the end with a 1-mile climb up Camp Old Indian.
Grab your family and join us in celebrating the race day festivities at our Family Festival, beneath the changing leaves in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. We are proud to offer cyclists and non-cyclists alike an action-packed day of free food, drinks and live music. Or visit our vendor garden with products from our favorite cycling companies. Need to brush up on your knowledge of quality beers? We’ve got you covered. Try the complimentary Beer School brought to you by New Belgium Brewing. We haven’t forgotten the kids! Your children will have the opportunity to take part in our children’s bicycle races and a fully equipped inflatable bouncy park. There is something for everyone at the Gran Fondo Hincapie. Come out and celebrate with us.
The Hincapie Warehouse Sale, held at the Hincapie Sportswear office, has become almost as popular as the Gran Fondo itself! This sale occurs in conjunction with our Packet Pickup all day Friday, so be prepared to shop till you drop with our amazing deals on cycling apparel for men, women, and kids. We know a thing or two about apparel, so we’ve got you covered from head to toe – expect to see everything from jerseys and bibs to jackets and vests to warmers, gloves, and hats! We’ll have food trucks and music, so plan to come hang out for a while.
Nothing is more important before a big race than a good meal the night before! Come enjoy a chance to sample amazing food prepared by celebrity chefs from all over the country. Each chef will create a couple of unique dishes in their own style, so be sure to try them all. We’ll also have a master sommelier on hand who will select the perfect pairing for each course. Enjoy the chance to mingle with the chefs in an intimate setting to chat and ask questions. Be sure to introduce yourself – you might find yourself riding next to them on Saturday!
